There are those who believed that a V12 front-engined car cannot beat the performance that of a mid-engined one. So to prove them wrong, Ferrari created the best team to create a masterpiece that would struck these people in disbelief that what they thought isn’t possible is right in front of their eyes ready to sprint up the road.

By the year 1996 they were able to finish the masterpiece and it was then revealed to the world at the Nürburgring Motor Show as the successor of the F512M model. Its heart is a 5.6 L 65 degree V12 engine which can deliver a maximum torque of 569 Nm at 5000 rpm and its maximum power is delivered at 7000 rpm summing up to a total of 357 kW. It uses a Bosch Motronic M5.2 conjoined ignition/fuel injection system and a dry sump lubrication system.
Its exhaust is an insulated stainless steel exhaust system employing a changeable back pressure through bypass valves positioned on the rear silencers. It has a torque-and-power-enhancing variable geometry specifically developed just for the 550 Maranello. And for a practical and optimum weight distribution, 550 Maranello was employed with a transaxle system together with an integrated 6-speed plus reverse gearbox and differential.
Its performance of course tops it all. Acceleration from zero to a hundred km/h only takes 4.4 seconds and you can sprint all the way to a zooming 320 km/h.
550 Maranello is also equipped with superb technologies providing the driver with perfect control over the car. Its four wheel independent suspensions comes with a transverse parallelogram structure and triangular arms, aluminum gas dampers with coaxial coil springs and anti-roll bars both on front and rear. Damper settings can then be varied through a driver adjustable system incorporated in the suspensions.
As advanced as the overall performance of the car as with the interior. Not only is it very exquisite, it is also very functional. The central field is equipped with the LCD analogue instruments. And the controls located near the gear level can easily be accessed.
